South Baldwin seniors will have a chance to connect with health care providers, community organizations and local businesses when Senior Wellness Week stops in Foley next week.
The free event is scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 28, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Foley Civic Center, 407 E. Laurel Ave. It is open to seniors across the community, including veterans.
Senior Wellness Week is a traveling, weeklong event along the Gulf Coast hosted by WKRG. The initiative is designed to promote overall well-being while helping seniors and caregivers better understand the services and support available to them.
Attendees can explore information on aging services tailored to seniors and caregivers, learn about health and wellness programs focused on healthier lifestyles and connect with local vendors offering products and services from across the community. The event will also feature interactive activities and entertainment for all ages, with prizes including $25 Greer’s Gift Cards.
The WKRG Weather Team will be on site to meet with attendees and answer questions, adding an interactive element to the morning’s programming.
Participating organizations for the Foley stop include VIPCare, United Hearing Centers, BBB | Better Business Bureau, Senior Healthcare Brokers, Comfort Keepers, EcoView Windows & Doors, Foley Public Library, Alabama Credit Union, Medstar Emergency Services, Small’s Mortuary, Baldwin Health, Foley Senior Center, Chicken Salad Chick and Alabama Rehabilitation Services.
