Karen Callaway Schwartz, 42, died Wednesday, March 12, 2008 after a long battle with breast cancer.
She was a graduate of Foley High School and a graduate of the University of South Alabama School of Nursing. She worked as a Registered Nurse in the ICU at the University of South Alabama Medical Center.
Survivors include her husband, Michael Schwartz of Mobile; two sons, Jacob (Caroline) Hartley and Joshua Hartley; daughter, Brittney E. Hartley, all of Mobile; her parents, Donald “Tom” and Lavada Callaway of Gulf Shores; a brother, Brian (Judy) Callaway; four nieces, Madalyn, Laura, Kristin and Gabrielle Callaway, all of Mobile; many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. Friday, March 14 at St. Dominic’s Catholic Church, 4156 Burma Road, Mobile.
The family requests memorial donations be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation or Catholic Social Services.
