Sarah Joyce Mattingly Nordstrom, 57, a native of Fairhope and a resident of Robertsdale, died Thursday, Sept. 30, 2010.
She was a beloved wife, mama, nana, sister, daughter-in-law, sister-in law, friend and devout woman of God. She lived her life to the fullest and made the world a better place in her short time here with us.
She lived out Jesus’ commandment to love the Lord thy God with all your heart, soul and mind and to love your neighbor as yourself. She has touched so many lives and the world will be a little darker without her light in it. God’s princess has finally come home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Mynelle Mattingly.
Survivors include her husband, Chuck Nordstrom of Robertsdale; two daughters, Jessica Owens of Bay Minette and Jude Owens of Daphne; two sons, Jayson Owens of Gulf Shores and Bryan Woods of Fairhope; sister, Cecelia Meggs of Spanish Fort; mother-in-law and beloved caregiver, Kay Nordstrom of Fairhope; three grandchildren, Lauren, Maddie and Xander; many other family and friends.
Visitation begins at 2 p.m. with A Celebration of Life at 3 p.m. Monday, Oct. 4 at Jubilee Shores United Methodist Church, Fairhope. Interment will follow at Silverhill Cemetery.
The family requests memorial donations be made to the family.
