"font-family:">She was born and raised in Winston-Salem, N.C., where she met the love of her life, William L. Wharton Jr. to whom she was married until his death in 2008.
"font-family:">She will be missed by her children, Mr. and Mrs. William L. Wharton III of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Mr. and Mrs. Robert G Hall IV of Philadelphia, Pa. and Dr. and Mrs. Marcus Wharton of Charleston, S.C.; her grandchildren, Mitchell Wharton, Robert Hall V, William Hall, Kristina Wharton and Katherine Wharton; and her great-grandson, Robert Hall VI.
"font-family:">A memorial service will be held for her at Spring Hill Presbyterian Church at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 6, 2012.
