Roy Rex Pumphrey, age 85, a resident of Summerdale, Ala., passed away Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2015.
He was a Korean War veteran and a member of the Summerdale Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Irene Pumphrey; sister, Lois Pumphrey; and a brother, Glen Pumphrey.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Jerry Kathyrn Pumphrey of Summerdale, Ala.; children, Mark Steven (Ann) Pumphrey of Silverhill, Ala., Mark Patrick (Karen) Pumphrey of Foley, Ala.; brothers, Lloyd Pumphrey of Summerdale, Ala., Mickey Pumphrey of Uriah, Ala.; three grandchildren, Eric Pumphrey, Ryan Pumphrey, Megan Skinner; four great-grandchildren, Kensley Pumphrey, Emory Pumphrey, Kingston Miller, Jett Skinner; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Foley on Saturday, Dec. 12, 2015 at 2 p.m.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until time of the service.
Interment will follow at Pine Rest Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations be made to Summerdale Baptist Church.
