Rose "Pat" Coghlan, age 83, former Orange Beach, resident, peacefully died while surrounded by her family on Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013 at her son's home in Atlanta, due to respiratory complications.
Mrs. Coghlan was born Sept. 1, 1929 in Mobile, to James J. and Elizabeth Nolan. She was married on June 14, 1951 in Mobile, to her love and proud marine Millard Preston Coghlan, with whom she spent nearly sixty years. Following the traditions of her youth, she remained a lifelong faithful Catholic. An ardent traveler, she enjoyed exploring the landscape of our nation and abroad. When home, she lived for time with her three grandchildren and for afternoons cheering on her Atlanta Braves. In 1992, Patricia and Millard moved to Orange Beach, from Atlanta, where they retired in their home by the sea. She is survived by her two brothers, Jimmy and Paul; son, Michael Coghlan, his wife, Kathy and daughter, Deborah Benefield, and grandchildren Michael, Kyle, and Maggie. Catholic service will be held Friday, Jan. 25,2013 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Gulf by officiant Father Robert Fulton.
