Rockwell Elementary School students help Haven outreach program

Posted

The students at Rockwell Elementary School recently created artwork for the fronts of packets given to families adopting pets at The Haven.

The artwork helps the adoptees, and the students, learn about topics such as how to stop pet overpopulation in the community, ways to keep pets happy with diet and exercise and how to build a career working with animals.

Executive Director of The Haven, Michael Graham, said, "This colorful and fun project extends The Haven's Humane Outreach Program. It provides a wonderful opportunity to pave a better future for our pets and the people in our communities, by engaging with our youth," said Michael Graham, executive director of The Haven. "It is also a great way to promote compassion for animals and to educate our youth about the importance of protecting and cherishing our pets.

"Our adopters love these custom, creative adoption packets, displaying vibrant colors and personal pet drawings by the students of Rockwell," he said.
