Richard James Curzon Sr.


Richard James Curzon Sr., 92, a native of Omaha, Neb. and a resident of Foley, passed away Thursday, July 11, 2013.

He was known for being a loving husband and father. He was a member of Swift Presbyterian Church and a Navy veteran of WWII.

He was a local artist and art teacher, member of the local model airplane association and was a member of a barbershop quartet for a number of years, singing in the Baldwin County area.

He is survived by his wife, June Curzon of Foley; son, Richard “Rick” Curzon Jr. of Omaha, Neb., daughters, Betty Hill of Arlington, Va. and Mary Raymond of Foley; a sister, Betty Goodwin of Omaha, Neb.; grandchildren, Beth Halas, Vicky Carrier, Sarah Hill and Ashley Curzon; and great-grandchildren, Matthew and Katheryn Halas, and Alaire Carrier and Charlotte Hill.

Funeral services will be held at Swift Presbyterian Church in Foley at 2 p.m., Saturday, July 13, 2013.

Family will receive friends one hour prior to service time.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to Swift Presbyterian Church, 23208 Swift Church Road, Foley, AL 36535, or to Community Hospice, 2770 S. McKenzie St., Foley, AL 36535.
