Richard Harry de Malignon Sr., 87, of Elberta, died Friday, April 8, 2011 at his home.

He was a chief petty officer and aviation boatswain mate in the U.S. Navy. He was also the ship’s captain of the Silverfox in Pirates Cove and a volunteer fireman in Bon Secour.

He was a lifetime member of the VFW and American Legion.

Survivors include his wife, Carole de Malignon of Elberta; three daughters, Sharon de Malignon of California, Pam de Malignon of Seattle and Terri Leach of Atlanta; three sons, Michael de Malignon of Lillian, Jimmy de Malignon of California and Richard de Malignon Jr. of Orlando, Fla.

A memorial service will be held at 11:45 a.m. Friday, April 15 from the pavilion at Barrancas National Cemetery, NAS, Pensacola, Fla.

Cremation arrangements are by Cason Funeral Service, Foley.
