Richard Alvie Boykin, age 82, a resident of Loxley, Alabama, passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2022.
Mr. Boykin was a proud Navy Veteran. He was a diesel mechanic. Mr. Boykin started his career as a diesel mechanic in the U.S. Navy and furthered skills in trade school after his service. He retired from the Alabama State Docks as a mechanic foreman after 41 years of employment.
Mr. Boykin is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Boykin. He is survived by his daughter, Melissa Boykin-Spicer and her husband, David, and son, Richard Boykin, Jr. and his fiancé Loretta Presnall, plus three; stepchildren, Keith Echols, Sandi Hilton and her husband Tracey, and Jay Echols; sisters, Barbara Flynn and her husband, Johnny and Sandra Bettner and her husband, Freddie; brother, David Boykin and his wife, Barbara; grandchildren, Hayley Boykin, Mark Crawford and his wife, Leslie, Cara Knollenberg and her husband, Donnie, Matthew Crawford, Tanner Hilton, Hayden Hilton and his wife, Julia, and Trenton Echols; and one great-grandchild, Ezra Knollenberg.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 27, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at Mack Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Mack Funeral Home. Burial with military honors will be at the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spanish Fort, Alabama at 12:30 p.m.
