Retired Falcon Matt Bryant's waterfront estate sells for record $9.25 million in Orange Beach

Posted

A waterfront estate along Canal Road has sold for $9.25 million, setting a new record for a residential sale in Orange Beach and marking a significant jump in pricing for the area's high-end market.

The property at 29170 Canal Road closed Feb. 13, according to Engel & Völkers Gulf Shores and Engel & Völkers Pensacola, which co-listed the home. The sale surpasses the previous residential record of $7.4 million in Orange Beach.

The seller was Matt Bryant, a former NFL kicker who played for the Atlanta Falcons from 2009 to 2019.

The home includes nearly 9,000 square feet of living space on more than four acres with direct waterfront access. It was listed in May 2025 and drew interest from out-of-state buyers, according to agents involved in the sell.

Beverly Kennedy of Engel & Völkers Gulf Shores said the sale reflects increased attention on the high-end market along the Alabama Gulf Coast.

"This sale reflects the growing national attention on the Alabama Gulf Coast luxury market," Kennedy said. "Buyers are recognizing the privacy, scale, and waterfront lifestyle available here — and this closing confirms Orange Beach can compete with the most established luxury destinations in the Southeast."

Brian Harris, license partner for Engel & Völkers Gulf Shores, said the transaction involved collaboration between the Gulf Shores and Pensacola offices.

"This transaction is a strong example of what makes Engel & Völkers unique," Harris said. "While our shops operate locally, we collaborate seamlessly across markets to serve clients at the highest level. The Alabama-Florida corridor functions as a unified luxury ecosystem, and our ability to leverage relationships, marketing reach, and expertise across both states was instrumental in achieving this record-setting result."
