In loving memory of our mother, Reida Cornell, born Eletheria Raises in Pensacola on May 1, 1924, and raised in Jackson, Miss. She went to be with Jesus on Saturday, July 6, 2013.
She was a longtime resident of Magnolia Springs, Gulf Shores and Foley.
Reida was an avid bowler and even competed nationally for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Malcolm “Mike” Cornell on Aug. 17, 2010.
She leaves behind four children, Janice (Kermit) Broussard of Elberta, Frank Cornell of Foley, Michael “Mickey” (Patsy) Cornell of Bon Secour and Sharon (Dwight “Bo”) Dearmon of Gulf Shores; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a sister, Francis Raises Gilmore; and two brothers, John Raises and Frank Raises.
A memorial service will be held for family and close friends on Thursday, July 11, 2013, at 2 p.m., at Harvest Church, Summerdale.
