The first piece of the 2023 Hangout Music Festival lineup puzzle has been placed.

Hangout fans have been waiting months to learn who will be included in the lineup for the 2023 festival, which is schedule for May 19-21 in Gulf Shores.

On Sunday, Hangout Music Festival’s Instagram account posted a reel featuring the Red Hot Chili Peppers' song “Californication.” The text of the post read: “Dream of Alabamacation.” Many of the 290 comments questioned if the teaser post was a hint and begged for a lineup reveal.

While festival organizers have not yet revealed the lineup, the Red Hot Chili Peppers released their upcoming tour dates on Monday, Dec. 5, and listed Gulf Shores as their May 19 stop.

The group was set to headline the 2020 festival with Billie Eilish, Post Malone, Megan Thee Stallion, Kane Brown and more before that year and the next in 2021 were both canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Post Malone, Megan Thee Stallion and Kane Brown performed this spring for the return of the festival post-hiatus.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers have a new album titled “Return to the Dream Canteen.” Their global tour kicks off in Vancouver in Canada on March 29. Tickets go on sale Dec. 9 at 10 a.m. local time at www.redhotchilipeppers.com.
