Mr. and Mrs. Robert George Randall of Point Clear announce the engagement of their daughter, Meredith Jane Randall, to Andrew Hoffman Underwood, son of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin List Underwood Jr. of Mountain Brook.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Martha P. Thompson of Rancho Mirage, Calif., and the late John J. Thompson, and the late Mr. and Mrs. George W. Randall of Mobile.
She is a 1998 honors graduate of Bayside Academy in Daphne, and a 2002 graduate of Birmingham-Southern College where she earned a bachelor or arts degree in public relations and communications. She is a member of Kappa Delta sorority.
She is employed in Mountain Brook with All Seasons Travel/Destination Alabama as the destination management coordinator.
The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of Carolyn D. Pontius of Memphis, Tenn., and the late Dr. David H. Pontius, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Marvin List Underwood Sr. of Elizabethtown, Ky.
He is a 1998 graduate of Mountain Brook High School and a 2002 magna cum laude graduate of the University of Alabama where he earned a bachelor of science degree in economics and German. He is a member of Sigma Chi fraternity and Beta Gamma Sigma honorary.
He will graduate in May from Emory University’s Goizueta School of Business. He will begin employment in New York City in August.
The couple will exchange vows June 30, 2007 at Sacred Heart Chapel in Point Clear.
