Ralph William Bartholomew Sr., 70, born June 8, 1940 in Norfolk, Va., a resident of Fairview, Tenn., died Thursday, April 21, 2011 at Williamson Medical Center, Franklin, Tenn.
He was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal, Small Arms Expert, Markmanship, Army Good Conduct Medal, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, Air Force Longevity Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, Vietnam Service Medal, Bronze Service Star, and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include two sons, Ronald (Susan) Bartholomew of Foley and Ralph William Bartholomew Jr. of Texas; daughter, Rachael (Jeremy) Harrison of Knoxville, Tenn.; brother, Roy Bartholomew of Norfolk, Va.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 2 at Middle Tennessee State Veterans’ Cemetery with Brother Donnie Craig officiating.
The family requests memorial donations be made to Dickson County Humane Association or any Veterans’ Support Group.
He proudly served his country for 23 years in the U.S. Air Force achieving the rank of master sergeant.
