Rain storms that reached the Eastern Shore late Friday night and lingered into the morning hours Saturday failed to stop residents from attending the grand opening of the Fairhope Museum of History.
From the ribbon cutting at 10 a.m. through the last organized event at 2 p.m., participants were engaged in every activity. Museum Director Donnie Barrett estimates 500-600 folks attended the festivities. Residents continued to move through the museum after 2, so Barrett kept the museum open until 5 p.m. to accommodate them.
