R Bistro set to reopen in Fairhope with a new location

FAIRHOPE — A past Fairhope favorite restaurant is set to make a return to a new location and could be open as soon as next week.

R Bistro was in the heart of Fairhope's central business district on Fairhope Avenue. The small and cozy restaurant served freshly made desserts and pastries, French onion soup and their famous crawfish gravy, just to name a few.

After 10 years of business, owner Misty Rider closed R Bistro at the end of July 2021.

While the restaurants closed, their crawfish gravy continued to delight customers by way of the grocery store. They later opened R Bistro Express at the Piggly Wiggly Fairhope selling some of their classic dishes and pastries.

The resurgence of a brick-and-mortar R Bistro is an endeavor Misty Rider is taking on solo. The couple have parted ways, and Joe Rider will continue the business at the Piggly Wiggly while Misty opens the restaurant.

The new R Bistro is located at 19270 Scenic Highway 98 in a building previously occupied by Fish River Grill. Misty is busy getting the restaurant ready and hiring staff. She hopes to be open around Thanksgiving.
