Pumpkin Patch Express returns to Wales West

Posted

Wales West RV Resort & Light Railway will welcome guests aboard the “Dame Ann,” an authentic steam locomotive, for the annual Pumpkin Patch Express beginning Oct. 2.

The train will take guests to the resort’s Pumpkin Patch and an optional spooky maze. During the daytime train, which runs before 7 p.m., the experience is geared toward children and families. After 7 p.m., the SCARY night train begins for guests looking for a more frightening experience.

Each ticket includes a free pumpkin along with refreshments, mini train rides, a hay-less hayride, mini golf and a bounce house. Guests also can try the potato cannon for a small additional fee.

Food will be available for purchase at the resort’s Café, which serves traditional fare, and at the Concessions stand, which offers kettle corn and other treats. A Gift Shop also will be open for train enthusiasts and other visitors.

The Pumpkin Patch Express will run from 4-9 p.m. every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from Oct. 2 through Oct. 30, with nightly trains beginning Oct. 23. The event will be closed on Halloween.

Wales West RV Resort & Light Railway is located at 13670 Smiley Street in Silverhill.

Tickets are $25 per person, while children age 2 and younger are admitted free. Tickets can be purchased at the railroad or online at www.waleswest.com. For more information, call (251) 232-2322 or contact Wales West through Facebook.
