A proposed residential development that could bring more than 660 new homes to the Loxley area will be open to a public hearing on Thursday, Oct. 29.

The Loxley Planning Commission will consider a planned unit development (PUD) pre-zoning request for The Preserve at Rock Creek, a proposed 663-lot single-family subdivision covering approximately 247 acres.

The development would be located between Cabinet Shop Road and County Road 65, south of Hinote Glass Road, according to the commission's meeting agenda.

The property is currently zoned as rural agricultural in Baldwin County, and the applicant is seeking PUD pre-zoning in anticipation of future annexation into the city of Loxley.

The public hearing is scheduled during the Planning Commission's regular meeting at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29.

Residents will have an opportunity to hear details about the proposal and provide public comments before the commission discusses and takes action on the request.

The Preserve at Rock Creek is listed as Item 7 on the meeting agenda under case number ZC26-06.
