Arthur Prater, 83, a native of Westlake, La., and a resident of Daphne, died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2008.
Survivors include his wife, Jessia Prater of Daphne; three daughters, Deborah Prater- Godine of Hayward, Calif., Dietra (Timothy) Prater-Slack of Castro Valley, Calif., Tina Alexander of Annadale, Va.; two brothers, Leonard Prater of Chunchula and Larry Prater of Dallas; five sisters, Joyce Simmons, Delores Prater, Sandra Dee Prater, all of Westlake, La., Jean Walker, and Rose Cheers, both of Houston; two grandchildren, Jamila McElligott and James Arthur Godine; godson, Braiden Allen; seven great-grandchildren, a special friend, Kay Williams; a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends.
Visitation begins at 10 a.m. with a memorial service at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 1 at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home. A private interment will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are by Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc., Fairhope.
