DAPHNE, Ala.—The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office Task Force, which has members from the Daphne Police Department, ended a four-month investigation into narcotics sales in the Daphne area with a round-up Friday that led to the arrest of 13 suspects.

The suspects arrested—all from Daphne—are as follows:

Authorities seized thousands of dollars' worth of illicit drugs in Friday's bust, Daphne police Lt. Jud Beedy said.

All but three of the 13 suspects were arrested in the Daphne area on May 20-21, Beedy said.

Two suspects—Arnold and Leigh—were already in the Baldwin County Corrections Center on unrelated charges and were rearrested at the jail for the narcotics charges. The two men allegedy were connected with drive-by shootings that occurred on Daphmont Drive last month.

One suspect, Tolbert Jr.—turned himself in to the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office, Beedy said.

The Baldwin County Task Force still seeks five suspects:

Beedy said he was satisfied with the execution of the drug sting.

“It went down great,” he said. “The task force worked diligently in putting this project together.”

This bust, Beedy said, should diminish illicit drug use in Daphne, which he said is present, but not alarming, to authorities.

“Hopefully, we put a dent in the drug situation in Daphne,” he said. “Drugs are a problem everywhere. But I don’t think we have a problem as much as other areas.”

Anyone with information of the whereabouts of the five suspects that have not been arrested is asked to contact the Daphne Police Department at 621-9100, or the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office at 937-0202.
