Residents attended Riviera Utilities' first Welcome Back Monarch Day on May 9 at the Foley Civic Center in Foley. Due to weather, the event was moved indoors, where attendees heard a presentation from Carmen Flammini of the Alabama Cooperative Extension System about monarch butterfly migration and the importance of native pollinator gardens. The event, hosted by Riviera Utilities, also included information on protecting the pollinators and distributing milkweed plants and seeds to participants.
