Plans for 140 condos, 77 homes to go before Orange Beach Planning Commission on Monday

ORANGE BEACH, AL – The Orange Beach Planning Commission will have a full slate on Monday, July 13 with discussion planned for a 114-unit condo project on the beach, a 26-unit condo project on Terry Cove and a 77-cottage residential development behind the Village of Tannin on the beach highway in west Orange Beach.

Also on the agenda are two items from Tacky Jacks, a new Alvin’s Island store, a new office for the Orange Beach Water Authority and some easement relocations for the Sandy Shores apartment complex.

Phoenix Orange Beach is first on the agenda and Brett-Robinson is proposing a 114-unit condominium on a lot west of the Hampton Inn. Preliminary plans meet current zoning requirements for the area.

On Terry Cove Was Design is requesting approval of site plan called Robinson Grove to construct a 26-unit condominium complex on 1.58 acres along. The property is located on Walker Key Boulevard and is in the marine resort zoning district. Owners are listed as Greg Kennedy and Jim Owen

Park’s Edge is proposed for land abutting Gulf State Park and behind the current Village of Tannin development. This request is also from Was Design seeking recommendation to the City Council for approval of preliminary planned unit development zoning and master plan to rezone to PUD for a single-family residential development with 77 cottage lots along with an open-air pavilion and pool area. The address is 23063 Perdido Beach Blvd and the owners are listed as Cottages at Romar LLP.

The Sandy Shores apartment complex is already approved and will have 10 buildings housing 108 units on Perdido Avenue just across from Wolf Bay and northwest of Cosmo’s Restaurant. Lucido Engineer is making the request and the owner is listed as Jeff Lowe.

Bullock-Tice Associates are requesting a site plan approval to construct a new retail store for Alvin’s Island with a building footprint area of 8,372 square feet. The owner is listed as Marco Destin, Inc., and it would be located 27433 Perdido Beach Blvd. and is located in the general business zoning district.

Tacky Jacks is seeking approval to add storage and build a 6,300 square foot “senior center” at its location on Safe Harbor Drive in Orange Beach on Cotton Bayou. The applicant and owner is listed as George Skipper.

The Orange Beach Water Authority is seeking to build a new office building at the current location at 25097 Canal Road and is located in the general business zoning district. The applicant is Goodwyn, Mills & Cawood.

Lucido Engineering is requesting to subdivide 45 acres owned by Daniel Blackburn into three separate lots of 30 acres, 2.56 acres and 13.26 acres. The property is located on Canal Road and Sampson Avenue in east Orange Beach and is in RS-1 single-family residential zoning district.
