Geraldine A. Pixton, 94, born March 24, 1914 in Ellaville, Ga., died Friday, Oct. 10, 2008 in Macon, Ga.

She was a former Foley, AL resident from 1953-1973. She was a graduate of Georgia State Woman’s College at Valdosta with a major in English. She was a former elementary school teacher in Atlanta.

She was the daughter of Alonzo Alexander Arrington Sr. and Bertha Burnam Arrington. She was the youngest of eight children.

She was a member of Vineville United Methodist Church and a member of the Vineville UMW and Ed Cook Sunday School Class.

She was a loving mother, grandmother and aunt to the children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Through the years, she was an active Girl Scout Leader, worked by her husband’s side in the real estate business, enjoyed her garden club, playing bridge and being with her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Marvin F. Pixton Jr.

Survivors include a daughter, Carole P. (Larry) Grant of Macon; son, Marvin F. (Helen) Pixton III of Spotsylvania, Va.; grandchildren, David W. Grant Sr. of Macon, Leslie F. (Chris) Vito of Leesburg, Va., Kimberly P. (Scott) Millar of Charlotte, N.C., Julie P. Selby of Raleigh, N.C., Kim Edwards of Fredricksburg, Va., and Scott Edwards of Dallas; and seven-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 12 at Hart’s at the Cupola, Macon, Ga. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 13 in Ellaville, Ga. The family may be contacted at 4635 Brae Burn Lane, the residence of Dr. and Mrs. Larry Grant.

The family requests memorial donations be made to Vineville United Methodist Church and Methodist Home for Children and Youth.
