ROBERTSDALE, Alabama — There was some country with a bit of a pink flavor when Sweat Tire in Robertsdale held its Customer Appreciation Day on Tuesday, Oct. 25.
Sweat Tire owners Carmen and Dewane Hayes welcomed “Cindy” the pink fire truck from the Orange Beach Fire Department and Bill Black from 95KSJ broadcast live from the business, which offered fried catfish, desserts and drinks for its customers on Tuesday.
Several members of the Orange Beach Fire Department were on hand Tuesday, selling t-shirts and other items to raise money for research and to support women in the fight against cancer.
“People think it’s all about breast cancer, but we’re really here to support all women, no matter the type of cancer,” said a fire department spokesman.
Hayes said while the purpose of the event is also to help boost the economy during tough times, the business wants to do what it can to help fight for a worthy cause.
“We want to do whatever we can to support these guys,” he said.
