Pine Grove Elementary School students celebrated their annual Johnny Appleseed Day celebration on Sept. 28.

According to a Baldwin County Public Schools Facebook post, the event is a celebration of the life and legacy of John Chapman, also known as "Johnny Appleseed."

"Chapman was an American pioneer, best known for introducing apple trees to large parts of the United States," the social media post said.
