Pickle Gras pickleball tournament returns to Foley for third year

Posted

The third annual Pickle Gras pickleball tournament will return to the Foley Event Center Feb. 10-12, blending Valentine’s Day flair, Mardi Gras spirit and competitive play across 18 indoor courts.

Hosted by Foley Sports Tourism and the Bama Beach Pickleball Club of Baldwin County, the event welcomes players of all ages and skill levels while offering free admission for spectators throughout the three-day tournament.

Registration is open through Feb. 1. For $75, players may enter as many events as they choose. Tournament details and registration information are available at https://pickleballtournaments.com/tournaments/pickle-gras-2026.

The tournament will use a pool play format, grouping age divisions by similar skill levels. All pool play matches will follow a round-robin format with games played to 15, win by two. Larger divisions will be split into multiple pools, with the top two teams from each advancing to medal rounds. Medal rounds will consist of one game to 15, while gold medal matches will be best two out of three games to 11, win by two. The tournament director reserves the right to place teams into specific pools based on age and skill.

Organizers emphasize that the event is designed to be both competitive and community focused. All net profits from the tournament will be donated to local charities. Last year, the Pickle Gras tournament raised $12,000, benefiting four organizations in Baldwin County.

Pickleball, a paddle sport combining elements of tennis, badminton and pingpong, continues to grow rapidly nationwide, drawing players and fans to tournaments like Pickle Gras.

Updates and announcements can be found on the tournament’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100067726973981&mibextid=LQQJ4d. The Foley Event Center is located at 1001 E. Pride Blvd. in Foley.
