Several of the National Weather Service’s tide gauges have recorded a storm surge of 2-3 feet, especially from western Mobile Bay to Pensacola.

There is a Coastal Flood Advisory in effect for all coastal local areas.

Bertha should begin pushing away from our local area this afternoon, but expect extremely dangerous rip currents to persist through Thursday. Minor coastal flooding is expected during high tide Wednesday and possibly Thursday mornings.
