Mary Frances Phillips, 91, of Lake Charles, La., died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2008 at a local care facility.
She was born in Clarksville, Tenn., to James C. and Clara Gaisser Cotbara. A homemaker and the wife of a minister, she always supported her church and friends by being active in communities where she lived. She was an elder in her church in Bay Minette where she was also awarded a life membership in Presbyterian women in 1982.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, the REv., Everett H. Phillips; and a daughter, Marsha Carmichael.
Survivors include a son, David (Sharon “Cookie”) Phillips; five grandchildren, David Phillips Jr. and Joseph Phillips; Laura Frye, Abby Mason and Thomas Carmichael; and seven great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Monday, Dec. 1 at Bay Minette Cemetery.
