DAPHNE, Ala.— The Daphne Planning Commission discussed a request from Audubon Holdings LLC to annex a 19-acre parcel into the city.

The parcel is southeast of the intersection of Pollard Road and County Road 64. The property would be zoned R-4, which is high-density residential zoning.

Meredith Turpin, representative for Audubon, approached the commission with the request.

The company is the current owner of Audubon Apartments Phase 1.

“We are here today to ask the commission to approve our petition to annex Phase 1 of our apartment complex into the city of Daphne,” Turpin said. “Phase 2 was subdivided and annexed into the city in 2007.”

Commissioner Ed Kirby asked about the status of an outparcel that was not included in the annex request, but Turpin said the parcel was not related to the development.

The planning commission is expected to vote on the annexation at its next meeting, June 23 at 5 p.m. in City Hall.
