FOLEY, Alabama — A man has been arrested in Florida officials say is a person of interest in an apparent homicide that occurred in October in Foley.
Nicholas Ryan Young, 35, was picked up Thursday in Santa Rosa County on a first degree theft of property warrant.
According to a press release issued Thursday by the Baldwin County Major Crimes Unit, Young is a person connected to or who may have information regarding the apparent homicide of 53-year-old Ronald Jeffrey Higginbotham, who was found dead Tuesday, Oct. 30 in the Bay Villa Apartments on South Bay Street in Foley.
Higginbotham was found dead in his apartment by a maintenance employee, according to a BCSO release issued following the incident.
According to Thursday’s release, the Baldwin County Major Crimes Unit has been attempting to locate Young for the past month saying that he may also be in danger.
Investigators from the BCMCU were headed to Santa Rosa County on Thursday to attempt an interview with Young. No additional details are available at this time.
According to Santa Rosa County jail records, Young is in jail without bond on a detainer for hold with Baldwin County.
