Jennie Mae Perry died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2007 at Thomas Hospital, after a short illness.
She had been a resident at Montrose Bay Rehabilitation Center since Thanksgiving of 2004, after having been a resident of the Foley area since 1947.
She was born Feb. 13, 1911 to Martin Luther and Ethel Williamson Pierce Sr., near Greenville, where she graduated High School.
She was the oldest member of Miflin Baptist Church. She lived alert and died peacefully at the age of 96. More good times than bad were had by all, and she will be truly missed by many.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Myrtle Jean; two brothers, Martin Luther Pierce Jr. of LaFayette and Oren K. Pierce of Selma; and her husband, Charlie B. Perry.
Survivors include a sister, Ruth (Joe) Robinson of Ft. Washington, Md.; three daughters, Mary Perry Postma of Daphne, Ginger (David) Teem of Auburn and Charlotte (Tom) Henrichs of Foley; two sons, Luther “Buddy” (Sylvia Mixon) Perry of Crane Hill, and Carey L. (Brenda Alford) Perry of Daphne; grandchildren, Tyler and Tyson Postma, Angela Perry, Lesley Teem, Allison Teem, Katherine Perry, Chris Perry, Matthew Womble and Jeffrey Henrichs; five great-grandchildren and numerous grand-pets.
Graveside services and interment was held Wednesday, Jan. 2 at Pine Rest Memorial Park, Foley.
Arrangements were made by Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc., Foley.
