Perdido Key's first annual Kayak, Barbeque and Blues festival is coming your way to close out the summer season over Labor Day weekend.  The event is presented by the Perdido Key Chamber of Commerce, and features a 'Battle of the Paddles' kayak races with cash prizes.

Live blues music is of course included, starring Big Muddy, John Barbato & the Lucky Doggs and the Blues Brothers Soul Band.  The 'barbeque' portion is a competitive BBQ cook-off and the event is topped off with a spectacular evening fireworks show at 8:30 pm. FREE admission.

The location is Hub Stacey's at the Point, 5851 Galvez Rd., Perdido Key, Fla.
