FAIRHOPE, Ala. — Recently, Staff Sgt. Joe Zan with the 407 Medical Co. stationed in Iraq visited Lynn Reese’s class at the K-1 Center.
The students have been writing letters and pictures all year to make sure that “Mr. Joe” knows how much they appreciate him and miss him. The students used their technology skills by typing their letters and stories.
In honor of his visit, students wore red, white and blue to show patriotism and carried flags to welcome him. After he shared some interesting facts about the weather, the distance to Iraq from Alabama, schools etc., he presented the students with a large toy camel the students named Sandy.
Also attending this celebration was Joe’s wife, Tammy, his 2-year-old son, Dylan, and his mother, Jeannette Zan.
