Roy Pearson, 68, a native of Lenox and a resident of the Phillipsville community of Bay Minette, died Friday, Aug. 28, 2009 at his residence.
He was a retired heavy equipment operator for McDuffee Island Coal Co.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Brown Pearson; five children, Lisa Heaton, Faye Wilson, Vickie Claridy, Rose Mary Maslonka and Leroy Pearson; 18 grandchildren, Gary Heaton, Amy Lucas, Bradley Wilson, Caitlin Wilson, Christie Thomas, Jeromy Claridy, Jessica Claridy, Brandon Miller, Sasha Miller, Holland Hall, Kristen Maslonka, Hailey Maslonka, Sydney, Maslonka, Chesney Maslonka, Anthony Barlow, Sabrina Swinney, Tasha McMillian and Darius Pearson; 12 great-grandchildren, Garrett Heaton, Cloe Heaton, Alex Lucas, Cali Thomas, Dominic Thomas, Hailey Claridy, Kayleyh Claridy, Dayton Claridy, Alexis Hall, Emily Miller, Izabelle Swinney and Jasmine McMillan; two brothers, Ray Pearson and Doug Smith; and his sister, Susie Ganey.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept 1 at Fretwell Tabernacle Holiness Church with Helen Stewart officiating. Burial followed at Perdido Baptist Cemetery.
Arrangements were made by Norris Funeral Home, Bay Minette.
