Thousands of Jimmy Buffett fans are expected to flock to Gulf Shores this fall as Parrot Heads in Paradise brings its 33rd Annual Meeting of the Minds Convention back to Alabama’s beaches.
The official Buffett fan organization, known as PHIP, will host the event Oct. 22-26 at the Hangout, a beachfront venue that’s become a beloved home base for Parrotheads in recent years. This marks the third straight year the celebration returns to Gulf Shores.
Founded in 1992, PHIP has grown into a global nonprofit with 196 member clubs and more than 25,000 fans who embrace the easygoing island lifestyle Buffett made famous through decades of hits. But beyond beach tunes and frozen drinks, Parrot Heads have quietly become a charitable force, raising millions and giving back to their local communities.
The 2025 convention theme, “Keeping the Party Alive,” pays tribute to Buffett’s spirit with a weeklong lineup of live music, community service and camaraderie. Organizers promise a stacked roster featuring solo artists, duos, full bands and even Grammy-caliber performers, many with songs that cracked the Top 100 charts. Three stages will keep the party going daily from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m., with plenty of on-site food and drink thanks to the Hangout’s five bars and 350-seat restaurant.
In true Buffett fashion, the good times come with a purpose. The convention supports a range of charitable efforts, including games, auctions and a blood drive. Past gatherings have brought in millions for nonprofits and donated hundreds of pints of blood. Altogether, PHIP and its local chapters have raised more than $64 million for causes tied to Buffett’s charitable foundations and community groups in Gulf Shores, Orange Beach and beyond.

Organizers encourage all who share Buffett’s laid-back spirit to join them in keeping the party going for a good cause.
