Parrot Heads to return to Gulf Shores for the 34th-annual Meeting of the Minds

Six-day celebration of Jimmy Buffett’s legacy brings music, charity and thousands of Parrot Heads to Alabama’s Gulf Coast

Parrot Heads from across the country and around the world will return to Gulf Shores Oct. 21–25 for the 34th-annual Meeting of the Minds Parrot Head Convention (MOTM), hosted by Parrot Heads in Paradise Inc. (PHiP), the official Jimmy Buffett fan club.

Coming on the heels of the Son of a Son of a Sailor celebration, Meeting of the Minds will once again bring the Parrot Head community together to celebrate the life, music and legacy of Jimmy Buffett while continuing his tradition of giving back.

Last year’s Meeting of the Minds generated approximately $100,000 in direct donations and contributions benefiting communities throughout Baldwin County and nationally, demonstrating that while Parrot Heads know how to have a good time, they also know how to “Party with a Purpose,” according to a news release from the organization.

This year, Parrot Heads are expected to descend on Gulf Shores for five days of music, friendship, activities and charitable giving.

Highlights of Meeting of the Minds 2026 include:

  • Six days of live music, games, breakout sessions, social events and charitable activities throughout Gulf Shores;
  • Special appearances and events featuring members of Jimmy Buffett’s Coral Reefer Band;
  • A free Jimmy Buffett tribute show open to the public on Wednesday, Oct. 21, welcoming the Gulf Shores community to join the celebration;
  • Skip, Sip, and Party at LuLu’s — a Phun Walk and Second Line tribute to Jimmy Buffett benefiting local breast cancer patients; and
  • Opportunities for Parrot Heads from around the country to volunteer, give back and support organizations serving the Baldwin County community.

“Meeting of the Minds is not simply a music festival. It is the annual gathering of the Parrot Head community and an opportunity to celebrate the friendships, charitable work and lifestyle inspired by Jimmy Buffett,” the news release states.

Parrot Heads in Paradise Inc. (PHiP) is the official Jimmy Buffett fan club, representing more than 175 clubs and 16,000 members worldwide and raising over $2 million in contributions with over 150,000 in volunteer hours. Throughout the year, PHiP clubs combine music, friendship and fun with volunteerism and charitable giving in their local communities.
