OWA Parks & Resort welcomed families from across Alabama recently for its 8th Annual Magic Moments Day, an event focused on fun, connection and creating lasting memories for children facing serious medical challenges and their loved ones.

The annual Beyond the Moment event brought together 61 Magic Moments families, representing 275 participants, at OWA Parks & Resort, according to a news release. Families spent the day enjoying rides, attractions, entertainment and time together.

Each participating family included a child who previously received a Magic Moment and is living with a chronic life-threatening or acute life-altering medical condition.

As a longtime partner of Magic Moments, OWA provides an opportunity for families to step away from daily medical challenges and focus on spending time together. The event supports Magic Moments’ Beyond the Moment program, which helps wish families stay connected and continue building meaningful relationships long after their original Magic Moment has been granted.

“Hosting Magic Moments Day each year is one of the most meaningful traditions at OWA,” said Ashley Darby, Director of Marketing OWA Parks & Resort. “Seeing these families come together to laugh, connect, and simply enjoy time with one another is incredibly rewarding. We are honored to provide a place where lasting memories are made and where families can find support and friendship among others who share similar experiences.”

Organizers said the event highlights OWA’s ongoing commitment to supporting organizations that make a difference in the lives of children and families throughout Alabama.

Magic Moments Day is part of OWA’s continued partnership with Magic Moments, an organization dedicated to serving children with serious illnesses and helping families create positive experiences beyond their medical journeys.
