Our Lady of the Gulf offers quiet Christmas for those seeking peace during holiday season

Posted

The holiday season can bring more than joy.

For some, it is a time of grief, loneliness, stress or the exhaustion of a fast-paced season.

To provide a moment of calm, Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church will host Quiet Christmas, a one-hour service of prayer, scripture and meditative music designed to offer reflection and comfort the parish said in a news release.

The event is open to anyone, regardless of faith, seeking a peaceful space away from the usual holiday bustle.

“Not everyone experiences Christmas with ease,” the parish said in the release. “Quiet Christmas is our way of offering a space to breathe, rest and encounter the comforting presence of the Christ Child as we approach the celebration of His birth.”

Quiet Christmas will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 15, at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church in Gulf Shores. Admission is free and the public is welcome.

For more information, contact the parish office at (251) 968-7062. Details are also available at https://olgal.org/events/quiet-christmas-a-peaceful-hour-of-prayer-and-reflection.
