ORANGE BEACH, Ala. — The City of Orange Beach is hosting a Backcountry Trail informational meeting on Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the council chambers.

This meeting is open to the Public and all are welcome to attend.

There have been some misconceptions about the logging that has taken place and this meeting is intended to provide an update about the trail.

A brief report on the trail system will be given, discussion about the impact of the fire, what has been repaired and the costs associated with it, the removal of trees and plans to replant trees, and also an announcement on the starting date of the new section, Cotton Bayou Trail, will be discussed.

There will be representatives on hand from the City of Orange Beach, Orange Beach Fire Department and Gulf State Park.
