ORANGE BEACH, Ala. — What does Orange Beach Mean To You? It is time to get creative and express yourself by entering one of the two exciting contests the city of Orange Beach is holding in honor of its 25th Anniversary.

The first contest allows the artist to redesign the city’s flag.

The goal of the new flag is to carry the story of Orange Beach wherever it is displayed.

The design should be kept simple, no more than five colors and must be rectangular in shape.

Entrants may submit up to three designs each and they can be submitted on paper or electronically.

The top five designs will be picked by a panel and the public will pick the winning design by voting for their favorite out of the top five. All entries are due by July 31.

The other contest is a photography contest that gives one the opportunity to share his or her vision of what makes Orange Beach special.

It is open to amateurs and professionals alike, but the pictures need to be free of logos or other identifying features.

Photos may be submitted electronically or on CD.

The top 12 designs will be picked by the Birthday Committee. All entries are due by Aug. 7.

The winners for both contests will be announced at the Recognition Ceremony at the city of Orange Beach Birthday Block Party and Baldwin County Bicentennial Celebration, 1 p.m, Aug. 29.

There is no residency requirement for participation but all entries for both contests must be accompanied by an official entry form.

A complete set of guidelines and entry forms can be picked up at City Hall, several city facilities, or visit cityoforangebeach.com or call 251-981-6629 for more info.
