Orange Beach Public Works director, Baldwin legislator among men arrested on prostitution solicitation, human trafficking charges

The now former director of public works for the City of Orange Beach is being charged with soliciting prostitution, according to the Atmore Police Department following a two-day, multi-agency operation that also saw a state representative and school board president arrested.

According to Orange Beach City Administrator Ford Handley, Timothy Tucker, who has served as the city's director of public works since at least 2016, was no longer employed by the city as of Monday morning.

"The City of Orange Beach has been made aware of an incident involving Public Works Director Tim Tucker that occurred outside the City of Orange Beach. Tucker is no longer employed by the city. Because the incident involving Tucker is being handled by another jurisdiction, the city will not comment further on those proceedings,” Handley said in a statement to GCM.

A description of his role in a 2016 lawsuit says Tucker was responsible for the street, refuse, maintenance, custodial, landscape, ballfield/golf course and beach departments for the city. Handley added that Tyler Davidson has been named public works director for the City of Orange Beach, effective immediately.

"Davidson brings extensive experience in public works operations and has a strong understanding of the city’s infrastructure, services and ongoing projects. His leadership will provide continuity for the department and ensure the high level of service Orange Beach residents, businesses and visitors expect," the statement said.

Along with Tucker, District 65 State Rep. Brett Easterbook, who represents parts of Baldwin County, and Satsuma City School Board President Kory Wesley were also arrested as a part of the same operation. According to the release, Easterbrook has been charged with human trafficking in the first degree and soliciting prostitution, and Wesley has been charged with human trafficking in the first degree as well attempting to elude.

The operation, which was conducted out of an unnamed hotel in Atmore, was a combined effort of the Atmore Police Department, the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office (Alabama), Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, Clarke County Sheriff’s Office, Poarch Tribal Police Department, Bay Minette Police Department, Flomaton Police Department and the Brewton Police Department.
