Officials are still investigating a wreck on the Foley Beach Express that claimed the life of an Orange Beach police officer.

According to officials, the wreck happened at the intersection of Foley Beach Express and County Road 12 and the officer had just left work and was headed home. Department officials still haven't identified the officer.

Officials say they are still trying to notify family, friends and fellow officers.

It was a two-vehicle collision and the officer's white SUV, a city vehicle, appears to have overturned several times coming to rest along the median in the northbound lanes.
