Orange Beach man killed in morning motorcycle accident at The Wharf

ORANGE BEACH, AL - On May 20, 2016 at approximately 6:45 a.m., Orange Beach Police responded to a reported motor vehicle crash on Wharf Parkway East near the Oasis.

Responding officers arrived to find a motorcycle had left the roadway and the driver unresponsive. At some point during the crash, it appeared the driver struck a tree.

The driver has been identified as, Clark Frederic Jones, 27, of Orange Beach. Jones died of injuries incurred in the crash. It appeared Jones was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation. The Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences will perform an autopsy in this case.
