The third-annual Orange Beach Freedom Fest kicks off Friday, Oct. 6, at The Wharf. The festival will celebrate America at its best with food, arts and crafts, cars, motorcycles, jeeps and music.
The weekend of fun begins Friday with the Bama Coast Cruisin' show's vintage and classic cars lining Main Street. Military, veteran groups and local first responders will be stationed on Wharf Parkway with activities and information. The U.S. Air Force Operation Shadow Strike mobile experience will also be on-site.
On Saturday, more than 70 arts and crafts and outdoor experience vendors will fill The Wharf's west side. The artists and vendors will have a wide variety of items to sell ranging from watercolor, apparel, sensory play kits, yard art, candles and more.
An outdoor village area will feature blacksmithing demonstrations, Leave Only Footprints, the Backcountry trail, Gulf State Park, Operation ReConnect and more.
After you work up an appetite, head to the food vendor area and pick up a snack, meal or drink. Festivalgoers can choose between food vendors selling seafood, boudin egg rolls, corn dogs, pulled pork sandwiches and more. The Orange Beach High School Softball team will be operating a lemonade stand as a fundraiser. Orange Beach High School Student Government will be selling Pepsi products as a fundraiser.
The Marshals will hold the third-annual Let Freedom Roar Run and Rally Saturday, Oct. 7, with a motorcycle and Jeep parade around noon. The event benefits Youth-Reach Gulf Coast. Tickets for the rally are $30 for drivers and $15 for passengers and can be purchased on Eventbrite.com.
