Orange Beach Festival of Art celebrates 50 years of highlighting local artists

Circle March 9-10 on your calendar and make plans to spend a day or two in Orange Beach to enjoy the award-winning Orange Beach Festival of Art.

The Coastal Arts Center in Orange Beach is one of the most beautiful settings. The views of Wolf Bay almost outshine the amazing art hung within and created on the grounds. Each year, the site fills with artists, activities, food and entertainment for the two-day Orange Beach Festival of Art. The juried fine art show continuously ranks in the top national shows and has won many awards.

This year's family-friendly event will feature 100 booths of local and regional fine art to browse. Visitors can also enjoy seeing art created live. Stop into the Hot Shop and watch experts blow glass or visit the Clay Studio to see a lump of clay spun into a bowl. Visual art demonstrations are riveting for the young to young at heart.

When hunger strikes there is no need to leave the festival. Delicious food awaits festival-goers in the Culinary Arts area. This year's vendors include The Shack Street Food, Will Yum's food truck and Tin Tin's Rock n Roll Food Truck. Grab some food and venture to the Performing Arts or Music stage for some entertainment while you dine.

Don't forget to take the little ones to Kids Art Ally for some hands-on fun. Watch the children try their hand at clay sculpting, sand art or bicycle spin art. You never know the fun that will be on offer. After the art fun, stop in and visit the Orange Beach Wildlife Center exhibit and get up close and personal with the animal ambassadors.
