Members of U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 3-10 in Orange Beach recently gathered for a special appreciation etoufee dinner prepared for them by U.S. Coast Guard Capt. James Montgomery, Director of the Coast Guard Auxiliary. After the dinner, Capt. Montgomery presented each Flotilla member with the Meritorious Achievement Award for their achievements in the Silver Oar Program. The Silver Oar program measures the level of U.S. Coast Guard support provided by each flotilla in the 8th Coastal Region. The Meritorious Award is quite rare and during the last 50 years less than a dozen flotillas in the 8th Coastal Region have received this superior performance award. Pictured left to right, back row are flotilla members Don Wilsdon, Pat Avinger, Norm Winger, Fred Kirby, Tom Moo, Norm Matzl, Bob Czyszon, Kery St. Peter, Byron Trotter, Jim Curtis, Roger Rockwell, John Roberts and Rod Waring. Front row, left to right are Carol Trotter, Lenore Kirby, Gillian Palfery, Ed Tomko, Bob Gibson, Richard Poulin, Loraine DeRoy, Dave Hyden, Nancy Matzl, USCG. Capt. James Montgomery, and John Griggs. Not pictured are George Davis, Micah Dean, Ken Drake, Ed Houts, Mac Hughes, Jeff Jacobs, Tom Lantz, Patricia Link, Larry Ramirez, and Bob Suberi.
