FOLEY, Ala. — A call to Foley police on Saturday concerning a party on Baldwin County Road 24 eventually led to the arrest of two adults.
According to Lt. David White, lead investigator at Foley Police Department, the party in question allegedly had a number of 17 to 20 year olds in attendance, a number of which ran into the woods when police arrived at the scene.
Jessica Rena Sarvold-Peterson, 33, and Jimmy Russell Smalley, 49, were arrested and charged in connection with the underage drinking. White said Tuesday he wasn’t certain if the property where the party was held was owned by Sarvold-Peterson or Smalley since the report filed in connection with the incident didn’t say who the property owner is.
The Baldwin County Corrections Center Web site lists Sarvold-Peterson’s address as a post office box in Foley, while Smalley’s address is listed as West Birch Avenue.
The Web site shows Sarvold-Peterson charged with open house party and Smalley with contributing to the delinquency of a minor, both misdemeanor charges, according to White.
The two adults were nevertheless booked into the Corrections Center since the case will be heard in juvenile court as part of the county’s District Court system.
Sarvold-Peterson and Smalley’s children were allegedly at the party and ran when police arrived, said White, noting their children are 17 and younger. The call to police concerning the party was received approximately 10 p.m., White said.
Both Sarvold-Peterson and Smalley have previous bookings in the Corrections Center. Sarvold-Peterson was booked twice in 2001 for first-degree marijuana possession among other charges, while Smalley was booked in 2000 on a first-degree marijuana possession charge. He was also booked on a contempt of court charge in 2002.
Both Sarvold-Peterson and Smalley have been released in connection with the charges filed against them in connection with the alleged underage drinking.
