Man arrested in Fairhope shooting

FAIRHOPE -- A Fairhope man was arrested Thursday, Jan. 20, in connection with a shooting in which one person was injured.

Alan Christopher Kegelman, 27, was arrested without incident early Thursday morning by Fairhope police, according to a deparmtent statement. Kegelman is charged with first-degree assault.

The shooting took place near Twin Beech Road on Wednesday afternoon.

The victim was flown by helicopter to a hospital for medical attention. The person was expected to be released Thursday, the statement said.

The incident was reported just after 4 p.m. on Wilson Lane in south Fairhope. 

Kegelman was being held in the Baldwin County Corrections Center on Thursday on a $10,000 bond, according to jail records.

The incident is under investigation by Fairhope police. No other information has been released.
