Ollie Mae Steadham McPhaul, age 97, born in Vernon, Fla, and a resident of Bay Minette, died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012 at her residence. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her children, Addie Phillips of Bay Minette; Elizabeth (Bill) Reed of Bay Minette; and John A.(Gwen) McPhaul of Charlotte, N.C.; two sisters, Mable Everette of Bay Minette; and Willie Troutman of Atmore; ten grandchildren, Karen Squires of Shreveport, La; Robin Elizabeth Moorer of Gautier, Miss; Mack Todd Moorer of Stockton; Tamara Leigh Thompson of Phillipsville; Traci Stacey of Birmingham; Jesse “Bubba” Myles Reed of Bay Minette; Sonya Reed (Al) Salem of Spanish Fort; Eric McPhaul, Chad McPhaul and Wade McPhaul all of Charlotte, N.C.; thirteen great- grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Durwood McPhaul Jr. and a son, Richard Floyd McPhaul. The funeral service will be held Friday, Nov. 9, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church with Dr. Jeff Spicer officiating. Burial will follow at Bay Minette Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, Nov. 9, 2012 from 9:30 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service at the First United Methodist Church. Pallbearers will be Todd Moorer; T. J. Thompson, Myles “Bubba” Reed, J.R. Stacey, Tarik AlSalem and Sammy Everette. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Lyles and Earl Chancellor.
